Everyday millions of people sit down at their computer to send out new blog posts to their webpage. This means everyday you are competing against millions of blogs to be seen by the world. So how do you get noticed? Here at Responsive Inbound Marketing we want to help, so follow our guide of The 7 Best Practices for a Blog and you will be well on your way to blogging success.

  1. Focus on Long-tail Keywords

How does your blog make it to the first page of results on a Google search? One way is with effective, relevant keywords. There are two types of keywords: broad keywords (short, open terms) and long-tail keywords (longer, more specific words or phrases). When first starting a blog target those long-tail keywords. This will help you rank higher on the search engine results.

  1. Utilize the Power of Social Media

Another way to bump up your search engine ranking is to share your blog with your network. The more shares, likes, and followings your blog gets the higher it will rank on search engines. So take advantage of the social media world and include buttons to easily share or like your blog.

  1. Keep It Short and to the Point

This is Blogging 101. Keep your information short, clear, and to the point. Don’t babble on about irrelevant topics, stay relevant and make your viewer want to read more than just the title.

  1. Highlight Important Information

This goes along with keeping your article short and to the point. Use bullet points, numbers, and bold font to highlight important information making the blog easy for viewers to skim through.

  1. Add a Call-to-Action

Add a call to action, or link, on the blog. Placing a call to action on your blog will allow people to see more of your products or services and keep them searching through your webpage. But remember; keep the call to action relevant to turn the viewer into a promoter.

  1. Blog Consistently

Occasional, inconsistent blogging is a sure way to lose viewers, so blog at least twice a week. Consistent blogging will help you grow your viewership.

  1. Include a Relevant Image

Include an image that will attract viewers to your page and is relevant to your blog. A blog with at least on image is much more successful than one without an image.

So go out there and tell the world your story and watch your viewership increase as you use our 7 Best Practices for a Blog.
