Hello, happy summer, and nice to meet you! My name is Gretchen Durning, and I’m excited to announce that I’m one of Responsive Inbound Marketing’s newest interns. Since I’ll be writing a lot of new posts for this blog over the course of the summer, I’m here to introduce myself so you can get to know the writer behind the blog.

Gretchen Durning

First, the basics: I was born in Boston and grew up in the suburbs. Although I currently go to school out of state at Connecticut College, a small liberal arts school, I spend every summer back here in the Boston area. Out of all the cities I’ve ever visited, Boston is one of my favorites—it’s beautiful, it’s got character, and there’s something for everybody here, no matter your interests. I’m proud to call it my home, and thrilled that I have a chance to work here for the summer!

At school, I’m an English major with a psychology minor. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been a voracious reader (and almost as passionate a writer!). Choosing to study English was the only option that ever made sense to me, because there was nothing else I loved as much as books and words. As for my psychology minor, that happened accidentally; I was so interested in the subject that I took enough classes to complete the minor before I even realized it. Looking towards the future, I’ve always wanted to find a way to combine my passion for the English language with my interest in people and human psychology. Working here, at Responsive Inbound Marketing, I can do just that, and I get to be a part of a dedicated team working in the exciting environment of a start-up in the bargain.

When I’m not busy with work or school, I participate in several groups and activities on campus, from choir groups to the school’s equestrian team. In my down time, I’ll almost always have a book in one hand, and—fresh off a semester across the pond in London, England—a cup of tea in the other. Add a cat, dog, or any other fuzzy animal to keep me company, and I’m content!

Thanks for reading! I look forward to a summer full of blogging and marketing tips, and I hope you do too!
