prominent post-its, news, current eventsNot only is it finally Friday, it’s also Halloween weekend! Before you don your scary or clever costumes, let’s be sure you’re all caught up on the recent news. Here are this week's Prominent Post-its!

Drugstore Jackpot

1+1= Big Money for Walgreens. The business bought Rite-Aid for a whopping $17.2 billion in an all-cash transaction. Is bigger better? It is when it comes to pizza, but is that true for major drug stores? Shareholders and Wall Street rejoiced, but CVS Health better be ready for the new bigger and better competition. Who are you betting on?

Cyber Security Bill

Do you value your privacy? Are you glad the days of your parents looking over your shoulder are over? I’m sorry to say now your parents will be the government, and they’re not going anywhere. A new Cyber Security bill was passed that “helps thwart threats from criminal organizations,” as well as gives them any and every excuse to infringe on your privacy. Better follow the rules or you’re grounded!

FOX Hits it Out of the Park

This notorious news network is the true winner of the series thus far. After all, when millions of fans tune into the event, and your network is down – that’s a win for everyone. In all seriousness, the series is on the third game, with the Royals up 2-0. Let’s tune in to see if there are any more notable mishaps, oh and of course for the baseball!

Republican Debate

Watching the Republican debate was a sloppy showdown where each politician avoided the hard-hitting questions like Donald Trump avoids good hair days. Everyone attacked the moderators when they asked a question they didn’t like, which was frequent and distracting.

Halloween Costumes

Do you need a last minute costume idea? Whether you choose to channel Katy Perry and your favorite lunchtime snack, or turn up the gore and jump on the zombie trend, make sure you’re prepared for this spooky holiday. Nothing is scarier than a lame costume.

Enjoy your Halloween weekend, eat lots of candy, and be sure to check back in with us next week so we can catch you up on the news!
