This Week's Prominent Post-itsIt’s been a week of hard work, and a week of tragic news. But, not all that’s happened this week has been bad. We want our news round-ups to help you unwind from the week with some light-hearted stories to balance out the bad. So, take a look at our collection of eye-catching news stories with happier endings:

1. 10 Years Later
We can’t believe it, but this year is the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and most of the country is remembering the tragedy from 2005. President Obama, as well as former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura, have traveled down to New Orleans for the occasion. The Bushes are visiting the Warren Easton Charter High School, a school they helped reopen just one year after Katrina, that’s now back to business as usual. New Orleans is still dealing with fallout from the storm even now, but the city is moving forward, and this weekend is going to be a celebration of their triumph.

2. Dismally Deep
Banksy has done it again. And, by “it,” we mean “created art that’s meant to be deep, but ends up as a mix of pretentious and worrying.” His new theme park Dismaland (a play on “Disneyland”) is a protest against capitalism as well as, apparently, fairy tales. The exhibits are bizarre and mostly incomprehensible, like the Grim Reaper that’s spinning in place in a bumper car to the tune of the Bee Gee’s “Staying Alive.” Deep. (Unmute the video in the top left-hand corner for the full experience.) Best of all, this anti-capitalist theme park actually charges entry fees. Stick it to the man, Banksy.

3. Clumsy Catastrophes
Klutzy people know what it’s like to be embarrassed, but at least when you spill hot coffee in your friend’s lap, it doesn’t make international news. No such luck for these two poor souls – one, a 12-year-old Taiwanese boy who fell and accidentally punched a hole in a 350-year-old, $1.5 million dollar painting. Whoops. The other accident-prone person was a camera guy filming Usain Bolt’s world championship win in Beijing. He was following the track star on a Segway, but got a bit too close after the race was over and sent Bolt sprawling across the track. Luckily, no harm was done, but that cameraman has got to be feeling sheepish.

4. Friends in High Places
We have one more reason to love Taylor Swift – she’s a “Friends” fan! In her last L.A. concert, she invited Lisa Kudrow (aka Phoebe Buffay) onstage to perform Phoebe’s signature song “Smelly Cat.” Knowing TSwift, she probably got the idea while binge-watching the show on Netflix. Lisa was only one of several famous guests invited to perform with Taylor during her concert tour, but she definitely had the best tunes to share.

5. In Google We Trust
Google’s been in trouble lately in Europe, with an anti-trust case claiming that it misuses its #1 status in online search to prevent competitors’ ads from ranking as highly. Just yesterday, Google called BS and said the EU was imagining things. But, this case is far from over. It would be massive news if the allegations are true, and it would definitely matter in marketing – Google rankings are huge, so if these charges stick, it could change how digital marketing works. Let’s hope Google is right and there’s nothing wrong with how they do business, because nobody wants to have to switch over to Bing.
