In marketing, we talk about B2B and B2C – whether your business sells to other businesses or to individual consumers. Even though it’s marketing jargon, it’s still important to know which your company is, because it informs your marketing strategy. But, no matter which heading your businesses falls under, there’s a more important acronym that describes your company: B2H.

B2H is short for “business to human.” All companies, no matter who their target audience might be, are selling to human beings. And, unfortunately, it often seems that companies forget that. They focus on the numbers – how many clients and leads they have, what their conversion rate is, or how many click their calls-to-action are getting. These numbers are important, but they’re not the only important thing to consider.

To earn the love of your customers, you have to give them what they want. And, if you want to find out what your customers want, your best resource is the customers themselves. Ask them questions and listen to the feedback they give – it will help you improve, and you’ll be making your customers happy online. Studies found that customers who engage with companies over social media are more loyal to those companies – in fact, they spend up to 40% more with those companies than other customers. You can boost business by being human and by treating your customers like they’re human, too.
