Thanks to the Internet, you can work from almost anywhere. Whatever your daily challenge to productivity, whether it’s blocking distractions in your open floor plan office or knowing how to structure your day when working from home, chances are there’s a Google Chrome extension to make life easier. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite tools to boost productivity and help you get more work done during the day.

Momentum

Chrome Extensions We LoveMomentum is a personal dashboard that appears whenever you open a new tab. It greets you by name, and includes a clock, local weather and a scenic background image along with an inspirational saying that changes daily. This tool will help boost your productivity with the ability to set a focus for the day and create a to-do list so you can plan and prioritize your time.

Pocket

When you come across an article or piece of content that you want to check out, but don’t have time right then, you can save it to Pocket for future viewing. That way, you can stay on track with what you need to be doing, and don’t have to try and remember where you saw that interesting article or video you scrolled by earlier. Pocket also works without Internet connection and syncs across all of your devices, so when you save an article on your phone you can read it on your tablet later that day. You can read right inside Pocket’s clean interface, so you don’t even have to load a new tab. Especially if you have a list of industry news sources you go to regularly, Pocket is a great way to hold onto content you find useful and might want to reference again in the future.

StayFocusd

One of the biggest challenges people face in getting things done is all the distractions and interruptions throughout their day. This usually includes being your own worst enemy. How often do you sit down to work on something you know needs to get done, and find yourself scrolling through your social media newsfeed or Reddit five minutes later? StayFocusd might just be your answer. This tool limits the amount of time you spend on any distracting websites. You can set it to block certain sites for a specific period of time, or to block your access for the rest of the day after you’ve spent more than a certain duration of time on them. You can even customize it to only block certain pages or types of content on a site.

Noisli

Do you work better at a coffee shop? Or do you get distracted by what’s going on around you in your open floor plan office? Create your optimal environment for productivity or block out any distracting noise with Noisli’s sound options. Choose your ambience from rain, thunder, birds chirping to the ocean, a coffee shop, a train and more. You can create your own combination of sounds and give it a name based on task, or choose one of the pre-arranged combinations. If you find the ambient noise is not enough for you, a Spotify playlist or the right Pandora station can be alternative tools to boost productivity.

The Great Suspender

The Great Suspender will save you from keeping 50 tabs open at once and taking up too much memory in Chrome. After an hour, or however long you decide, without interacting with a tab, it will be suspended automatically. It’s easy to unsuspend a tab when you need it; just click anywhere on the page to reload it. You can adjust the settings to never auto-suspend certain sites, or not to suspend it for a period of time. If you open and close Chrome, tabs that have been suspended will still be intact, preventing them all from re-loading at once.

Sortd Smart Skin For Gmail

Your email inbox may be the bane of your existence, where things seem to disappear, never to be found again. The Sortd Smart Skin for Gmail is one of the tools to boost your productivity that will really make a difference. This smart skin works inside your Gmail inbox and allows you to organize your emails into multiple lists, in a layout that is similar to Trello. Email messages are located on the left side of the screen, and on the right pane are lists in which you can drag and drop emails. Name the lists for whatever categories work for you: to-do’s, follow up, deals and orders, and more!
