The explosion of interest in healthy living over the past several years has turned wellness and nutrition marketing into a booming industry. People, primarily women, in all parts of the world are becoming more and more involved in keeping their bodies and minds as healthy as possible. It’s exciting for consumers and companies alike. Customers can more easily find healthy options, and the businesses selling these healthy options have a fast-growing consumer base. But, knowing the trends is crucial for understanding the most effective ways to market your wellness products – and for getting involved as a consumer looking to improve your health. So, here are 4 top wellness trends that everybody should know about:

1. Healthier Food
Consumers are growing pickier and pickier about what they put in their bodies. Rather than rely on the fad diets of the past, both women and men are increasingly interested in ensuring that the food they eat is wholesome. Diet pills are on the decline, but organic and non-GMO foods are rocketing to popularity. In fact, several popular restaurants have responded to this by removing artificial ingredients from their food!

2. Fashion
The health-conscious movement has led to more options for workout clothing, but it hasn’t stopped there. Not only is much of this new workout clothing designed to be both functional and fashionable, it’s making its way into our daily wardrobes. Athletic gear has become common to integrate into everyday wear in a new, chic blend.

3. Cosmetics
Mineral-based cosmetic products have been growing in popularity as women have decided that they don’t want to coat themselves in chemicals. Natural beauty products are increasingly the go-to option for women who belong to the wellness movement. Companies such as Lush, a company that sells natural and handmade cosmetics, now boast massive followings in several countries.

4. Tech
There have always been apps for counting calories, but newer apps go above and beyond such simple calculations. An app called Fooducate does something similar, but rather than just log calories of a food item, it gives information on all its different nutritional values. Another app by Johnson & Johnson, called the Official 7 Minute Workout, packs a high-intensity aerobic workout into just seven minutes, designed to fit into a busy schedule. New apps appear every day with creative new ways to help the wellness-conscious in their quest for health.

So, now you know the top four ways people are getting healthy. You can use them to improve your own wellness, and maybe your marketing, too!
