hubspot vs eloqua. When selecting a marketing platform, there are many factors to take into consideration, including functionality, flexibility, cost, and ease of use.

In the past, we have looked at how HubSpot compares to Pardot and how it stacks up against Marketo. Here we compare HubSpot with Oracle’s Eloqua. As with any assessment, your specific needs will ultimately determine your selection.

Overall Strengths

HubSpot All-in-one product that provides complete inbound marketing capabilities, including website, blogging, SEO, social media, and analytics. Easy to use for all skill levels. Ideal for small businesses.

Eloqua Well suited for enterprise-level and global marketing teams; good for mid-sized businesses as well. Gains points for being owned and operated by Oracle.

Pricing

HubSpot – Pricing is one of HubSpot’s strengths with its entry-level plan—for 100 contracts—at just $200 a month, payable annually. Since they started out as a marketing-solution tool, their costs have evolved value-based as their capabilities have. Even the most expensive option, the enterprise, maxes out at around $2,500 a month. Here is a breakdown of HubSpot’s various package options.

Eloqua – Cost is one of Eloqua’s biggest downsides; it is one of the most expensive marketing automation platforms on the market. Can be limiting for companies with smaller budgets since the most basic option starts at $2,000 a month. As Marketing Matters Inbound noted: “To determine costs for Oracle Eloqua, you have to wade through a 48-page PDF that describes their myriad service permutations based on your industry and specific functional needs. There is a “basic” service option, but it’s not entry level in scope or cost.”

Integration Capabilities

HubSpot – Offers seamless integration of many popular sales, marketing, promotion, and technology platforms.

Eloqua – Integrates well with other Oracle products and platforms; integration with companion products from other developers can be difficult and do not fully integrate.

Both offer online and mobile platforms; however, Eloqua only supports mobile websites, while HubSpot supports Android and iOS as well.

Campaign Management

Eloqua is very focused on email marketing, which is perfect if that is your prime focus as well. Conversely, because of HubSpot’s broad functionality, those who just want email marketing automation may find it too cumbersome.

However, in contrast, HubSpot outshines Eloqua when it comes to blogging and content management. Regarding general campaign management, Eloqua lacks the campaign diagrams, drip marketing campaigns, and event scheduling that HubSpot offers, although both offer a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface.

Social Media

When it comes to social media, both have similar capabilities, except for social profile data and video sharing, which only Eloqua offers. But when you look at their company SM activity, HubSpot is killing it with five times as many followers as Eloqua and a much more active social life.

Overall, HubSpot has a hipper, cooler vibe than Eloqua which feels more like what your Dad would use for an integrated marketing platform., which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. And in this case, size does matter as Eloqua is the pertinent choice for large and enterprise-level marketers, whereas HubSpot is ideal for small-to-mid-sized businesses. As with any comparison, we always encourage you to conduct research and evaluate these products through your particular lens.
